My entire personality is a bizarre duality and coming to terms with that has always been a challenge in life and in my artwork! The only logical method to my madness is to separate the two personalities when working... for now.
On one side, I am a lover of Western Art History & Classical Music and all of the aesthetics that go with it. I love the elegance, grace and frivolity of the Rococo period and the seriousness and the intense emotional realism of the Baroque. I strive for realism and traditional beauty in my paintings which usually features women or the nude figure. When I paint in this way, my methods are meticulous and calculated. These works usually draw inspiration from themes in mythology, literature or my own imaginings. My goal is to always channel an inner feminity and seductress to inspire passion in my viewers.
I am a firm believer of Jean Mignot's words: "Ars sine scientia nihil est!"
When I’m not feeling quite so fancy-pants, the child in me takes over and my illustrations and illustrative style becomes far different from that seen in my paintings! I enjoy being carefree (and sometimes careless), using bold colors and experimenting with different drawing styles. In my illustrations, you can find subject matter inspired from pop-culture: video games, comic books,
literature and anime.
